Arizona Landlord Consultations
If circumstances make it necessary to obtain legal advice and you need the specialized knowledge of an attorney, or you need negotiation services to work through a legal issue, or advice on a business venture, we offer three levels of consultation services. You can retain us for a telephone consultation, an office consultation or what we call a limited engagement for a specific task. One of our goals is to make the process as easy for you as we can.
Of course the objective of any legal consultation should be to evaluate the issue or task at hand and provide legal advice on a course of action. We can’t assist you on every legal subject, but we can assist you on all types of landlord/tenant law, real estate matters, commercial contract matters, Arizona business law, copyright law, trade name law, internet law, domain name law, or potential probate litigation matter.
Some legal matters are fairly straightforward and don’t require the review of contracts or other documents. For this type of situation, we offer telephone consultations. It’s important for us to collect all the facts before giving you an opinion, or helping you decide on a course of action. We charge $150 for a telephone consultation which can last up to a half hour.

Sometimes situations necessarily involve the review of contracts or other documents prior to the consultation. For this type of matter we offer an office consultation after review of related documents.
Prior to the consultation we need all the documents relevant to your matter so they can be reviewed in advance. For example, we often need to review some type of written contract and evaluate a chronology of events related to the matter. Office consultations are $275 for up to one hour of the attorney’s time, including the time required for the attorney to review the contract or evidence.
After you provide us with all the relevant documents we will schedule an appointment for the consultation.

The Limited Engagement Process
If your legal issue can’t be addressed with an office consultation, we offer a limited engagement for a specific purpose. Negotiations are sometimes part of a limited engagement, or drafting a modification to a contract, or drafting a settlement agreement. Limited engagements require a $500 advance fee. The advance fee is placed in trust and we bill against it at the hourly rate of the attorney doing the work. Hourly rates of our attorneys vary from $185 to $425 depending on the experience and specialized knowledge of the attorney. If the time required to address the matter causes fees to exceed $500, clients are billed for the additional fees. As work progresses, we will not generate fees in excess of $750 without prior authorization from you. If the engagement concludes with less than $500 in billed time, the balance held in trust is refunded to you.
